Tonight I was at Cordovas show at Bar Brooklyn in Stockholm. What an amazing concert! A week ago, I didn't even know who they were. But on my was from Fruängen with a photo print on the subway last week, I randomly ran into my old friend Jonatan, who invited me to this concert... A big thanks that for that! And to the rest of you, remember to say yes to all the concert invitations.... It can only turn out great!

Last night at Loco Club performed Cordovas and I went to click some photos and listen to them. The group is led by Joe Firstman on vocals, bass, and other instruments along with guitarist Lucca Soria. A concert mix of country, folk, and rock that was enjoyable to a good group of followers. Their latest album is titled, "The Rose of Aces."

The band hosts a four-day music festival the second week of January each year called the Tropical of Cancer Music and Arts Festival. They invite fellow Americana musicians from around the world to play at several intimate venues in the Pueblo Magico. This is a not to be missed immersion in the beauty of song. Beyond the festival, the Cordovas play twice each week. Thursday evening is a standing residency at La Esquina. One of the most charming venues in the Baja. These are acoustic shows that showcase Joe Firstman and Lucca Soria playing guitars and singing beautiful harmonies. Saturday nights are electric shows at La Morena. A lively downtown cantina with the opportunity to get up close and personal while the band rocks the house. The joy that is shared by the songs and musicianship is worth a trip to Todos Santos. Saw the Cordovas at the 2017 Smoke On The Water BBQ Festival. They were great and playing some of our favorite music. My wife and daughter and I were singing along to the Dead songs, which caught Firstman's attention. He talked to us after the gig then went to pack up. We were waiting for the Old 97's to come on when a terrible storm hit and everything was canceled. We were going to leave when Firstman called to us that we had to stay and drink some Patron. All the festival people left and we ended up in a dug out cabin drinking and watching a local band play. It showed me that live music is on its way back and could not be more excited for this. It's unfair to try and compare them to other bands because they mixed in so many different styles why pigeon hole (sic) them? I am happy I got to go and hear this band last night I think everyone should try to at least once you will not be disappointed."
